Staying at Basera Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu was an unforgettable experience. This place is a true gem — a perfect fusion of refined luxury and traditional Newari architecture. Every detail, from the beautifully carved woodwork to the serene interior courtyards, reflects deep cultural roots and impeccable taste. My room was spacious, immaculately clean, and elegantly furnished, with the added indulgence of a private jacuzzi. The rooftop pool offers a stunning view of the city — the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. The on-site spa is also exceptional: peaceful, professional, and deeply relaxing. What truly made our stay special was the staff. Always kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful, they ensured that every need was met with a smile. Whether arranging transport, offering local tips, or simply making us feel at home, the service was warm and flawless. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, tradition, and outstanding hospitality — I wholeheartedly recommend Basera Boutique Hotel. I would return in a heartbeat.

I think there really is not enough time to tell everything about what I loved about Basera Boutique Hotel. After getting off the airplane at Tribhuvan International Airport, I met my driver, who came to pick me up in the hotel's van. Since it took time for me to get my visa and to clear through customs and such, he had been waiting for over an hour to meet me. He was still very kind as he answered my questions in English and helped to welcome me to Nepal, which was my first time. After about 20 minutes, I noticed a beautiful structure in front of me, which was exactly the same as the amazing pictures used to advertise the hotel. As we pulled into the entrance, we were greeted by a security guard who opened my door and saluted me, welcoming me to the hotel. After my bags were taken to the front desk, I was greeted by, I believe, a man named Kushal. At first, I did not know if this very kind-hearted, extremely caring, and informative man was typical of the staff in the hotel and Nepalese in general. Before giving me a key, telling me about the hotel, and trying to get the paperwork out of the way, Kushal asked me how my trip was, where I was from, whether it was my first time coming to Nepal, and what would I be doing during my stay. I welcomed this type of kindness very much. However, Kushal's kindness was not an anomaly at the hotel. The next morning for breakfast, I was greeted by a similar kind soul at the restaurant. The waitress was so welcoming and kind-hearted as she guided me around the absolutely amazing buffet-style breakfast. There was an impressive mix of Nepalese food and Western food. I remember the delicious French toast that came with three different types of syrups, plus several different types of bread, countless types of vegetables and fruit, and made-to-order dishes like omelets. Delicious food, amazing traditional Nepalese atmosphere, and second-to-none service are only a few of the items waiting for you in Basar Boutique Hotel.

It was an excellent stay all around at this beautiful property. It was so clean and everything worked well. They provided a great buffet breakfast with custom eggs and coffees. I had a manicure and pedicure at their spa too. The staff were the best - i had a 6 night stay so that was important. They were always professional and helpful and smiling. I booked this hotel because of reviews i read and they were not wrong- i would highly recommend.

Great hotel as they go the extra mile in every aspect. Wonderful breakfast and the day of early departure a mega huge breakfast package. Pickup from airport and drop off from bus station direct in front of the correct bus. . Immediate attention to all requests, such as repairing the fridge. No tourist style restaurants in the area but local ones and shops very close. We walked to Durbar Square and Patan or ordered a car cheaply via the Patao App. All the service and the attractive rate during February made us forget that room and facilities are not new anymore.

Quick one night stay at this hotel proved to be a lucky find. A bit away from the bustling noise of Kathmandu, this gem offered a quiet sleep, very friendly staff, and a shuttle to the airport in the morning (included). After having driven from the Chinese border to Kathmandu, I indulged in a deep tissue massage (thanks to all the staff in the spa area – Jaya and Sabito) and enjoyed dinner in the Nepali restaurant on top of the building. The staff at the reception, Smitri and Kushal were very helpful in organizing the transfer. Definitely worth a stay.
